John Chaney

After graduation, I attended Baker University. In September 1966, I married Sandy Plumlee. We have two children, John Jr. and Laura, six grandchildren & two step-grandchildren.

In 1967, I started a 28-year career at Black & Veatch Consulting Engineers, managing draftsmen and technicians in the Structural Engineering Depart-ment. In 1995 I retired from B&V and we moved to Arizona. We lived in Glendale, AZ for 3-1/2 years before moving back to Kansas. We enjoyed our time in Arizona by traveling the West and Southwest extensively. Upon our return to Kansas, I had a remodeling business for a few years, then in 2004 I started another business which we continue to operate today, Chaney Pest Management, Inc.

My favorite past time has always revolved around cars. Currently we have a 1949 Cadillac we are trying to complete restoration on which my Dad began before he passed away in 2012, I also have a 1970 Chevelle SS. Other favorite past times are traveling and spending time with family and friends.
