Mr. McDonald was my 9th grade Unified Studies teacher at Milburn. He introduced me to John Kennedy--he was always talking about him. Mr. Mac was very engaging.

My husband Eric and I both had "Mac" for Social Studies at Milburn.  What a wise and fantastic teacher he was!  I still remember him telling us "way back then", that it was not Russia we needed to pay attention to but China.

I also remember him putting our "Career Notebooks" that we had all worked on for weeks, in the trash can and putting it on top of his desk. (The stack kept falling over.)  Yes, you guessed it! The janitor threw them out that night...  I never let him forget it!

Years later when we returned to KC, we ran into him again. We became good friends with him and his family. He even gave us two ponies  for our sons when he learned we were moving to Stilwell, and would have land.  Those two ponies taught all four of us a great deal!

He was the most caring and understanding teacher and friend we ever met.  We miss you Mac!!!
