Kurt Roeyer (1964)

My favorite teacher, always trying to put our teenage existential worries in perspective:  "Don't worry, Mr. Roeyer!  in another thousand years it won't make a whit of difference..."

Seldom flustered by our shenanigans, he always seemed pleased by the challenge of coming up with yet another way to explain quadratic equations, so that we would finally get it!      Kurt Roeyer '64

I went back to SM West in 1967 for my sister's graduation and ran into Mr. Strickler, who happened to be my favorite HS teacher.  Had to laugh - I told him it was unbelievable how young he had become in the past four years!  My, how our perspectives change!  He said it was the nicest compliment he had received all evening!
