I never knew him or even talked to him once.  But he had the fastest, baddest car at SMW - a black on black 1962 Corvette.  Not just any Corvette but a top of the line "fuelie".  He used to open the "dump pipes" and peel out most days.  I remember he got kicked out of school several times and finally permanently.  I always wondered what happened to him and I still don't know.

I knew Eddie barely.  Known for his corvette and his ability to dance he was a really nice guy and easy on the eyes for all the girls.  Like Bob Caylor though, he seemed to stay to himself most of the time.  Wish I could have known him better..

If you like cars, we all remember Eddie's Corvette but he also had a candy apple red 57' Plymouth prior to the Vette.

I can't recall how he and I connected but it was probably through Ernie Ashlock who was a good friend of Eddie's.  Mike Hercules and Eddie were also acquainted as well and there was some "spirited" competition between the two personalities.

As most of the guys know like Art Miller, Jim Haynes, Jim Cook, Jerry Barger, Steve Seibolt, Rick and Fred Lindskog  Steve Fletcher, Randy Carroll , I really didn't know "Didley" about cars but I enjoyed thinking I knew a little bit. I recall a Saturday afternoon going to Funk's house and "working" on his car and it was hot!  There was a tub of Schlitz beer that was in a large ice bucket and the afternoon was a laugh.    Funny how those things stick with you over the years.

Eddie always  wore button down shirts that were smartly pressed with button up alpaca sweater and blue jeans.
