If this is the Jimmy Bennett I knew growing up, he lived on Overland Park Drive several houses away from Carole Minich's house and Gus Guerian's house. I went to Overland Park Grade School with Jimmy.
Jimmy Bennett lived next door to Carol Minich. Carol has passed away as well as I underestand it. Jimmy drove a black Chevy sedan. Jimmy and I played on the same baseball team the " Penguins" when we were younger. I can remember visiting his house and I believe Jan Fitzgerald also lived in the neighborhood as well. Heard Jimmy went in the Navy after high school but lost track of him.
I member one time when my car had a broken speaker wire under the dashboard and Jimmy was the only guy I'd ever met who actually knew how to solder wires. I took it over to his place and he fixed it in ten minutes.
I figured he was a wizard, because no one ever taught us how to do stuff like that....I knew some about Chaucer's Canterbury Tales but sure didn't know how to get my radio to work...Jimmy did. And he was happy to help. We all seem to have lost track of him, but I remember him well as a nice guy with a cool old Chevvy coupe who would always take time and effort to help a friend...
